If you have fine hair like me then you’re in the right place! I struggled for a long time trying to find products that worked with my fine hair. Most of them required blow-drying or left my hair the same as it was or didn’t last long in my hair at all. It can be incredibly frustrating using products that aren’t doing what they’re supposed to. Whether you like to blow-dry or air-dry your hair, these products work fantastic both ways!
I’ve taken the guessing game out of finding products that WORK and created a list of ‘5 Amazing Hair Products For Fine Hair’ that I’ve tried on my OWN hair so you can see what these products can do for you…
Milk_Shake Texturizing Styling Spritz
As soon as Milk_Shake came out with this product, I knew I had to have it! It’s literally MADE for people with fine hair! The texturizing styling spritz is a spray that gives more “body” to your hair. It also creates a matte finish with natural waves. Your hair will need to be wet or at least damp in order to use this product. I apply it to my roots, bangs and around the top of my head after I’ve had a shower and then I let my hair air-dry overnight. I also scrunch my hair so I get that “beach-effect” in the morning. After I brush my hair in the morning, I spray the texturizing styling spray all over again and scrunch to get more hold out of my waves. If you prefer blow-drying your hair as opposed to air-drying, you can get the beachy look by using a diffuser and then applying the spray again once your hair is dry. Don’t forget to scrunch!
Milk_Shake Leave-In Conditioner
Have you ever bought a leave-in conditioner and it left your hair feeling oily or TOO conditioned? This is the result of wax and harsh chemicals that are only coating your hair rather than treating it. When you look for a leave-in conditioner, it should detangle, moisturize, and add shine. After going through a few drugstore brand leave-in conditioners, which only weighed my hair down, I decided to purchase Milk_Shake’s Leave-In Conditioner and I have noticed such a difference. My hair tangles very easily, especially after my hair is wet so applying the leave-in conditioner untangles it enough that I barely need to brush my hair. This type of leave-in conditioner is a spray and easy to apply. I like to spray around mid-shaft to the ends of my hair for extra moisture during the dry seasons. It also adds a lot of shine which is great for those with platinum hair. It will also protect your colour from fading. BONUS, this stuff smells like HEAVEN! It’s made with honey, fruit extracts and milk proteins which gives it this incredible sweet smell 🙂
OGX Biotin & Collagen Shampoo & Conditioner
I’ve really noticed a difference in my hair after one wash of using “biotin & collagen” shampoo and conditioner by OGX. My fine hair went from limp and dull to texturized and shiny in as little as 24 hours! This is why I am so excited to share this product with you! The powerful combination of vitamin B7 biotin, collagen, and hydrolyzed wheat protein is what gives the appearance of thicker, fuller and healthier looking hair. I use this product before bed and let my hair air-dry overnight and by the morning, my hair is fuller and texturized which means it’s easier to style your hair. The other best part of this product is that you can buy it from any local drug store!
Clip In Hair Extensions
I’ve tried them all, tape-Ins, halos, clip-ins, and weaves… I can go into detail about all the time’s salons have screwed up my hair with their hair extensions and how I spent hundreds of dollars on products that DON’T work… Or I can lead you into the direction of positivity and explain how my experience with clip-in hair extensions are the best for fine-haired gals 🙂 Clip-In Hair Extensions are amazing as they are customizable. Whatever hairstyle you want to rock, whether it be a bun, braids, half up-do, straight or wavy, you can add clip-ins to any section of your hair to achieve that look. There are many brands that are modifying hair extension weight by the type of hair you have. For fine-haired gals, you would go with a lower weight since we don’t have thick hair. Those with medium to thick hair will need to purchase more hair in order for it to blend seamlessly. Since clip-ins are temporary, the hair will maintain its integrity longer and it is also less expensive in the long run. Unlike some other forms of hair extensions, clip-ins are easier to hide and layer in fine hair.
Batiste XXL Dry Shampoo
If you use this product right, it can be a total game changer for your fine hair! True or false, dry shampoo is only used for when you have oily hair? True but that’s not ALL it’s good for 🙂 Your hair will need to be dry for this one! Batiste created a dry shampoo just for us fine-haired ladies and it creates HEAVENLY volume! I find using this product ALL over your hair takes away the shine and will literally make your hair stiff as a rock. For best usage, apply it near your roots ONLY and then massage the product in to create volume and texture. This generally lasts all day depending on the weather so you may need to spray a bit more if you’ve noticed your hair starting to lose volume. If you want even MORE volume, you can section half of your hair and spray the dry shampoo around your roots and make sure to massage it in to create XXL volume.
By combining all these products, I have really noticed a change in my hair. After using these products, my hair grew 2 inches in 2 months and I have new growth forming. My hair is incredibly shiny and soft and it looks the same before I started dying it 15 years ago!
