Fall is a hard season for me to get into because I’m such a summer person. My biggest fear is not having enough things to do and then getting stuck at home, which is why I wanted to come up with my own bucket list! When fall does hit me, I go full throttle! I love decorating my house with candles and having them lit all day while I’m at home. I love the crisp windy air, thigh high boots, comfy sweaters and cozy nights in. A new season has arrived and that means there’s an opportunity for change. I love switching furniture around and bringing a new perspective to my home and life. It starts out the new season with a fresh mind!
My fall bucket list includes…
Drink A Pumpkin Spice Latte
This is probably the first on everyone’s list, am I right?! The best way to enjoy the crisp air and fall leaves is a pumpkin spice latte. I like to get mine from Starbucks with almond milk, cinnamon, and no whip 🙂
Watch Halloween Movies
I LOVE lighting the candles, grabbing a TON of blankets, turning off the lights and watching Halloween movies after a long day. Accompanied by candy and apple cider of course! A few of my traditional Halloween movies I MUST watch are Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus, Corpse Bride, The Addams Family and Casper 🙂
Sit Cozy By The Fire
I’m a total pyro, I love fires and how it crackles and dances. I could stare at a fire all day! One day, I am going to have a gigantic fireplace! I love drinking apple cider or cocoa by a warm fire surrounded by pillows and blankets.
I’ve never gone apple picking, can you believe it?! I went to Willow View Farms at the beginning of October after learning that their entire farm had burned down. All the farmers in the surrounding area lent their equipment, stock, products, and services to help get them back on their feet. I’m so thrilled to know that this kind of compassion happens a few towns away from mine! Visiting their orchard was truly an experience and the apples even more so. I’ve never tasted apples so pure, sweet and soft. It doesn’t taste like a grocery store apple and I’m not sure I can go back to eating those ever again haha!
Go To The Pumpkin Patch
This is my favourite thing to do EVERY fall! I love strapping on my rubber boots and going into the mud-filled field and picking out my own pumpkin! If I could bring home all the pumpkins, I think I would! The main places I love to place my pumpkins are at my front door outside and my office desk inside.
Wear A Pretty Skirt
I’m not sure why I haven’t been able to cross this off my list. Normally, I’m more comfortable in jeans, knee-high boots and sweaters but I actually really love dresses and skirts. I’ve always imagined myself on a crisp windy walk wearing a pretty skirt and tights 🙂 I love the way wearing a pretty comfortable skirt makes me feel. It’s freeing and it makes me feel like royalty!
Eat Halloween Candy
Halloween candy paired with a good Halloween movie is the best combination! They’re also yummy in the morning…and lunch…and maybe dinner…and maybe I need to cut back…My favorite Halloween candy would have to be…Reese Cups!
Dress Up For Halloween
The little kid gets brought out in me every year when Halloween rolls around. I love dressing up and getting creative with my costume! This year I went as Serena from Sailor Moon!
Decorate The House With Fall Decorations
Who else gets excited about pulling out the fall decorations?! As I mentioned earlier in this post, I LOVE change and I love being able to make my house feel new and invigorating by bringing out my fall decor!
Put Up Halloween Decorations
When it gets to about the middle of October, I can’t WAIT to set up my Halloween decorations! Both inside and out, I love making things look scary. I hope to see more houses decorated this year!
Carve A Pumpkin
I love pumpkins and picking them out and having the idea to carve them and have a good time but then as I’m cutting into the pumpkin, I realize just how bad I am at carving! I always seem to cut off an important piece of my design. I’m glad I have a strong man to help me carve my pumpkins!
Make A Fall Wreath
I’ve been making my own wreaths for a few years now as a way to save some money and to make the wreath how I like it. PLUS, it’s a great activity to do on your own or with another person!
Bake A Pie
Pumpkin pie, strawberry rhubarb pie, peach pie…what’s better than warm, homemade pie? I’ve never made a pie before so I reached out to my mom so we could make it together! This was quite an experience as she too had no idea how to make a pie from scratch! We ended up going with a recipe we found online. I made pumpkin pie and she made cherry. All of our guests wanted to take some home!
